I would like to mention two complementary projects that I have designed to contribute to the advancement of women, gender and sexuality studies throughout the Near East, especially in Turkey: the “Mapping Gender in the Near East” workshop and the K24 File.
Our project titled “Developing TOCİKAD’s Institutional Capacity” implemented by the United Nations Women’s Unit (UN Women) with the financial support of the European Union (EU), under the short name “Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality”, “Women’s Rights and Gender in Turkey” was deemed worthy of a grant within the scope of the “Strengthening Non-Governmental Organizations and Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for the Development of Equality” Project. “Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality” Project, through support to civil society in Turkey, aims to contribute to the development of women’s rights and gender equality.
Our project planned to follow an eight-month duration will ensure to strengthen TOCİKAD’s corporate capacity by carrying out visibility and networking activities. Our project will take place between November 2022 and July 2023.
